Komatsu to Acquire Manufacturer of Forest Machine Attachments

Komatsu Ltd. (President and CEO: Kunio Noji) (hereinafter "Komatsu") has recently decided that Komatsu Forest AB (President: Toshio Miyake) (hereinafter "KFAB"), Komatsu's wholly owned subsidiary, is going to acquire Log Max AB and Log Max, Inc., Log Max ABfs US sales company from Log Max International Holding AB (Chairman: Mr. Stig Linderholm). On a premise of approval by the concerned authority, Komatsu is working to complete the acquisition by the end of November 2012.

Log Max AB, a Sweden-based manufacturer of forest machine attachments, offers an extensive range of simple structured, high-reliability harvester heads in small to large sizes, while globalizing its operation and enjoying customersf solid trust. Harvester heads made by Log Max and KFAB are mutually complementary in type of harvesting and tree sizes. Therefore, Komatsu looks forward to generating important synergic effects in sales expansion of forestry machines as a result of expanding its range of harvester heads.
