Karma Sauce Company Introduces New Hot Sauce Products

Mon, 15 Oct 2012 10:58:46 EST

(Pittsford, NY)—The upstate New York-based KARMA SAUCE® COMPANY, creators of a growing line of small-batch artisanal pepper-based sauces and condiments, will launch a pair of distinctive hot-sauce products in October. Ghost Island Hot Sauce and Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce, both produced from all-natural ingredients obtained from regional farms in upstate New York, will add heat to the already zesty Karma Sauce product line.
The hero of Ghost Island Hot Sauce is the bhut jolokia, or 'ghost pepper,' certified in 2007 as the hottest chile pepper in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. Adding heat-rich fatalii and habanero for a mélange of pepper influences, the sauce then incorporates pineapple, mango and other flavors to create a distinctly Caribbean taste.
Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce enhances a foundation of real sour cherries with a dose of habanero pepper heat for a sauce that blends a unique fruity sweetness with an old-school fire that will be instantly familiar to hot sauce aficionados.
Although many KARMA SAUCE products are pepper-based, Ghost Island Hot Sauce and Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce are the first true hot sauces in the company's line. 'Our Good, Bad, Smokey and Curry sauces use peppers to showcase flavor more than heat, but Cherry Bomb and Ghost Island celebrate the unmistakable mouth feel of true pepper-based hot sauces,' says Gene Olczak, founder and president of The Karma Sauce Company. 'With these KARMA additions, we're giving foodies an even broader taste of the diversity of the chile pepper.'
The sauces were introduced at the recent Chile Pepper Fiesta, a national event held annually at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, NY, and will begin appearing at select markets in October. Ghost Island Hot Sauce and Cherry Bomb Hot Sauce will also be able to be purchased online at www.karmasauce.com.
About The Karma Sauce Company: Inspired by locavore friends and neighbors in his close-knit Pittsford, NY, community, Gene Olczak created the flagship Karma Sauce® recipe as a personal passion in the summer of 2008. Word-of-mouth acclaim prompted a creative expansion of the line to include four sauces – Good Karma, Bad Karma, Smokey Karma and Curry Karma – as well as Karma Sauce Tomato Kats'up and a popular family of whole-grain mustards. All Karma Sauce products use all-natural, homegrown or regionally obtained ingredients, and are produced exclusively by Olczak in small batches to ensure freshness and quality.
