Additionally, supermarkets will be compelled to ensure all products on their shelves are labeled correctly.

If voters approve Proposition 37, California will become the first state in this country to require food made from plants and animals with altered genetic material to be specified on the label for consumers. This will also forbid manufacturers from marketing their products as 'natural' if they contain GMOs.

So far, opponents of the rule have raised $35 million in attempt to overpower Proposition 37. It supporters have only raised one-tenth of this amount.
