'In a pump and dump stock manipulation, typically the insiders gain control of the float. They may start creating activity by using 'wash sales.' Then, often there is a spam stock promotion campaign using fraud,' said John Lux. 'The insiders dump their shares, leaving the public with losses. We are looking for violations of SEC rules on fraud and manipulation.'

Mr. Lux's expertise in reverse mergers and public markets was recently instrumental in a client winning a fast $1.5 million cash settlement in such a case. The case involved a reverse merger with a Form 10 shell, so-called 'Gypsy Swaps,' and a pump and dump.  "I was delighted to assist my client in this victory,' said Lux.
