According to the author Alexandra Barbot, who published the books in 2009, after the earthquakes in Haiti there has been increasing awareness and demand for books about her native island Haiti. The books are also illustrated by Mrs. Barbot, a classically trained artist from the school of Famed Haitian Artist Roland Dorcely. The art works are made after extensive research of  historic drawings of the time.

To reach a world market the author has published two versions of the book on Amazon, one in French and one in English. The hard cover is still available to the public on Amazon. Other translations in German and Spanish will also be available soon to the market.
