The website Ask The Beer Guy, run by a UNLV Professor of beer, has decided to run a campaign to raise awareness of beer and how to make your own beer He also mentions that many of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America were avid home brewers. 

President Obama said about the White House Honey Ale, "It is ice-cold and tasty."

White House spokesperson, Jay Carney, announced via Twitter, that the formerly secret beer recipe would be released once 25,000 signatures were gathered on an online petition requesting the recipe. Since that announcement home brewers and beer fans flocked to the site and signed the petition to see what was so special about this White House brew.

Professor Jon Griffin, primary contributor to Ask The Beer Guy, said, "I am happy that some needed attention is being brought to beer.  I have found that my students, once they get over the shock of actually having to do academic work in my class, are amazed at the variety and number of beers available from around the world."

Ask The Beer includes information about beer, making beer and of course, plenty of easy homebrew beer recipes. There is also an extended analysis of both the White House beers. The release of the White House beer recipes can only help elevate the discussion of beer and home beer brewing around the United States.
