Parivartan Sustainability Leadership Awards launched for 2012; Advance deadline is July 19, 2012

July 3, 2012: Sustainability Outlook, India's only market access and collaboration platform focused on sustainability and low carbon development, today announced the launch of the Parivartan Sustainability Leadership Awards 2012. Parivartan Sustainability leadership awards are an annual initiative to recognize and celebrate sustainability innovations in Indian businesses.
 
Nominations are invited from Indian businesses: both industries and service providers; and young managers, who have successfully contributed to uptake of innovative sustainability measures in their area of operations. The sectors under the purview of the awards include Textile and Apparel, IT and IT Enabled Services, Consumer Electronics, Processed Food and Beverage, Automotive, Clean Technologies, Logistics Providers, Building Materials and Power / Oil & Gas.

Making the announcement on behalf of the organizers, Upendra Bhatt, Managing Director at cKinetics stated, 'Parivartan Awards 2012 will continue its endeavor towards acceleration of sustainable interventions in the Indian industry. The 2011 Parivartan awards had created a unique opportunity for sharing of best practices and business cases amongst Indian businesses and we expect to set a new benchmark in 2012.'
 
Commending the initiative, Stuart Hart, Chair Professor at Cornell University's School of Management, and member of the Parivartan Leadership Awards Jury said 'Challenges around sustainability and resource scarcity have created the new breeding ground for entrepreneurial and technical innovation. Initiatives such as Parivartan Awards provide a platform for businesses to demonstrate their thought leadership and action on sustainability.'
 
Added Mr. P.S. Narayan, Vice President and Head - Sustainability at Wipro, "There is a tremendous opportunity for businesses to adopt sustainable initiatives and realize both business gains as well as environmental benefits.
