Wed, 23 May 2012 11:56:06 EST The Good Dog! International Film Festival is calling for submissions featuring man's best friend.
Festival Director Anny Slater said Sydney Australia is 'crazy mad' for dogs. 'On any given Saturday in Sydney there are more dogs in the street than people …we love our dogs!'
Slater, said she wanted to bring people back into Sydney for shopping and tourism and her love of both film and dogs made her conclude that a dog film festival was "the thing to do". A dog led recovery.
The festival has already attracted Oscar nominated submissions and boasts films submitted from New York, London, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Australian Oscar winner Bruce Petty is one of the judges.
Submissions Are Open
The festival will be at Balmain Town Hall, Balmain across 17-19 August 2012 and screening shorts and feature films all of which will include a dog.
