CET Designer is developed in collaboration with leading manufacturers who have invested in a smart, rules-based CET Designer Extension:
· Haworth's Canvas Extension
· Steelcase's SmartTools Extension
· Teknion's Storyboard Extension
· Spacefile's SpaceTools Extension
· Carvajal Espacios' iMAGINA Extension
· KI's SpecEngine Extension
· Inscape's Extension
· Connectrac's Extension
· Aurora Storage Products' Extension
Another Extension developed in collaboration with ProjectMatrix – the ProjectSymbols Extension – includes symbols representing more than 80 percent of office furniture industry products.
Configura Extension Technology (CET) is the basis for CET Designer software and Extensions. CET is based on Parametric Graphical Configuration (PGC), a technology and business model developed by Configura that simplifies the complex selling process for those who specify configurable products. Because product details and rules are built into Extensions, dealerships that sell the product lines can focus on design and specification while 'behind the scenes' the software automatically and accurately calculates the technical information, including quantities, parts numbers and pricing. The software produces photo-realistic renderings, accurate bills of materials and complete installation instructions – without relying on AutoCAD, although the software easily integrates with AutoCAD.
'Parametric Graphical Configuration is the crux of our solution,' Configura CEO Johan Lyreborn said. 'Because of PGC, our software is smart – manufacturers' product rules are built-in – the software won't let users make mistakes. It's a beautiful rendering tool, but much more than that, it is a calculation tool for simplifying the specification and ordering process of complex products.'
