El Sur's fully restored vintage 1970 Citroen H-Van is the first of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although Citroen no longer manufactures the H Van, many vintage car enthusiasts scour the globe looking to get their hands on one.

El Sur, a new San Francisco based mobile food business serving artisanal empanadas and other South American specialties, will be cooking and serving Argentine style empanadas in their fully restored Citroen H van, straight from the oven in the van's stainless steel kitchen.

EuroCar Imports, Citroen restoration specialists, imported the H Van from France and completed the extreme makeover from their New Jersey garage.  After completion, the van traveled nearly 3,000 miles from New Jersey to San Francisco, arriving at El Sur the first week in April.

This is not the first time EuroCar Imports has converted a Citroen H Van into a modern promotional vehicle for the food industry.  Just last week, the garage wrapped up its second H van makeover project of the year.  That one is heading to Los Angeles where it will make pick-ups and deliveries from local farmers' markets to a high end restaurant.
