Entering the postseason the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers come in as the top two seeds, and will get home-ice advantage through the playoffs. It will be the first time since 1994 that the Rangers came in with the best record in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The team is the six seed in the Eastern Conference and will have a golden opportunity to get out of the first round. The Devils will face the team from the weak Southeast division, and that's the Florida Panthers in their opening round matchup.
