Two people have died from injuries suffered in wreck that happened at approximately 4:15PM, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 on C.R. 11 in Pelham. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of family. Members of the Pelham Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a 3-vehicle traffic crash with injuries on County Road 11 at the entrance to Oak Forest Subdivision. A northbound Mercedes passenger car clipped a Honda Odyssey van that was stopped in traffic. The Mercedes crossed the center line of Highway 11 and struck a southbound Toyota Camry head-on. C.R. 11 was shut down for about one hour and twenty minutes while fire personnel treated the injured and the police started their investigation into the wreck. Both, the driver of the Mercedes and the passenger in the Toyota Camry were airlifted to UAB by Lifesaver Helicopter's. The driver of the Camry was transported by RPS Ambulance to Shelby Baptist Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
