Providing Chiropractic care to the Hispanic population

Thursday, May 10, 2012

When I was originally contacted by my guest for tomorrows It’s Your Life program, I was very intrigued for many reasons. Liz Serra is a native of Spanish Harlem in New York City. After surviving a vehicle accident with an 18-wheeler, live many accident victims she lived a life of taking numerous addictive pain medications while traditional medicine doctors attempted to heal her. However, when she was introduced to chiropractic medicine, her journey to recovery began in earnest. She was so taken with this alternate medical approach that she eventually became a doctor in the field.

However, her story doesn’t end there. After a several moves, she eventually ended up living and conducting her practice in the San Francisco Bay area of California. There she specializes in working with impoverished Hispanics. So, I was interested in talking to her not only about her road to recovery, but I also was curious about her experiences with working with this ethnic group and especially with Latinas.

Of course, the way the show normally unfolds, I doubt that our intended conversation will limit the topics that we delve into. With over 20 years of experience as a chiropractor, I am positive that Liz has many experiences and opinions to share with our listening audience.
