Justin Sollohub, the Anniston police officer killed in the line of duty in 2011, will be honored in Pasadena, California’s annual Rose Parade. The group Donate Life will be sponsoring a float in the New Year’s Day parade that will feature images of 72 individuals who were organ and tissue donors. Upon Sollohub’s death when he was 27-years old, his organs were transplanted to four different patients from across the country. For his life-saving gift, the Anniston police officer’s image will be displayed as a portrait made of flowers on the Donate Life parade float along with images of 71 other donors from across 34 states. The Alabama Organ center and UAB Hospital are sponsoring Sollohub, and the UAB News reports his partially-completed floragraph will be shipped from Pasadena to Jacksonville for a decoration event next Saturday and will be completed by friends and family and the UAB Hospital on December 18th. The 2013 Rose Parade will be on Tuesday, January 1.
