Anniston police are searching for a former Anniston police officer suspected in connection to a homicide that happened in Saks this morning. According to posts on the Anniston Police Facebook page, the suspect is Fred Boyd. He was last seen driving a black 2006 GMC Yukon, Alabama license plate AN90438. Police say both Anniston City Hall and the police department are under heightened security due to the search for Boyd. Armed officers were positioned outside the Anniston police headquarters as the search continues.
The homicide occurred on Chatwood Drive in Saks early Monday morning. Police have not released any information about the victim in the homicide, but authorities say Boyd is also connected to a second shooting Monday morning in Hobson City.
