Calhoun County deputies are searching for a man they believe robbed a Huddle House restaurant in Alexandria Monday night.
A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Mareo Burton, 31, on a charge of third-degree robbery, according to Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade. Burton is the main suspect in Monday’s robbery on U.S. 431.
Around 11:45 p.m. a man walked into the Huddle House and demanded money from the register, Wade said.
A restaurant worker at the scene told deputies the man did not brandish a weapon during the robbery, Wade said, but threatened her with violence.
Wade said anyone with information about Burton should contact the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at 256-236-6600. Wade stated that information leading to an arrest could result in a cash reward.
