The suspect who escaped from the hospital is facing charges in connections to another robbery. Deandre Miles, 19 years old, will be charged with two robbery charges.
According to police, Miles and an accomplice robbed a homeowner and contractor who were doing house repairs. The homeowner had a video system, which caught the incident on tape.
Then a few months later, Miles and another accomplice robbed another home. The homeowner had a gun and shot Miles as he was fleeing, which caused the injuries that led him to the hospital. Once in the hospital, Miles was confronted by the police and then escaped from the hospital, but was taken into custody a few hours later.
Miles is now being held in Jefferson County Jail on robbery charges.
