A Birmingham attorney who was running for circuit court judge before his recent arrest will return to court on Monday, June 25. Chuck Hunter was arrested by Hoover Police and charged with enticing a minor for sex and traveling to meet a minor for sex. Hunter was at the courthouse Wednesday for a bond hearing, but witnesses for the prosecution were unable to attend the hearing. It has been delayed until next week. No bond has been set for Hunter. The Republican Party's candidate selection committee took action against Hunter, who was the party's nominee for a circuit judgeship in Jefferson County. Hunter was running against incumbent Houston Brown. The party has until mid-July to select a replacement for Hunter.
