Jefferson County Sheriffs deputies are looking for a suspect in a home invastion who escaped from St Vincents East Hospital earlier today. Nineteen year old Deandres Miles was being released from the hospital when he broke free and ran off into a wooded area near the hospital. MIles is a black male 6'4" 170lb and was last seen wearing a hospital gown. Deputies are searching the wooded area near the hospital with the help of K-9 units. A hospital bracelt was found in the wooded area not far from the where deputies are searching. Miles was being treated at the hospital after being shot in the chest by the home owner of house he and another man had attempted to rob on Friday in PInson. Both suspects fled the scene leaving behind their guns. Deputies found the wounded Miles in the emergency room of St. Vincents East Hospital. He had been dropped off by the second suspect. While deputies were at the hospital, the second suspect returned with another man. Both men were taken into custody. We will have more information on this story when it becomes available.
