More than a dozen police officers from the city of Birmingham are in Washington, D.C., today to assist with security needs for today's presidential inauguration.
Fourteen officers from the Birmingham Police Department arrived Saturday in Washington. They went through a briefing Sunday and will serve along the inaugural parade route today.
Up to 700,000 people are expected to attend today's inaugural festivities in Washington, D.C.
