The Governor’s office has started the search for a new Calhoun County Commissioner to replace Eli Henderson. Jeremy King, deputy communications director for Governor Robert Bentley, told The Anniston Star that the governor and his staff are interviewing four candidates for the District 3 commission seat.
Eli Henderson left his seat on the county commission after 18 years to become Calhoun County’s Circuit Clerk earlier this month. King told The Star that candidate names cannot be released since the interview process is ongoing, and county administrator Ken Joiner said neither he nor other commissioners have heard who might be appointed to the position.
An announcement for the new commissioner is expected by the middle of next week.
