The prayers of family, friends and strangers have been answered. Talladega Police Chief Alan Watson says that a missing 5-year-old Talladega boy has been found safe in Florida. Evan Diggs was found around 8 p.m. Friday in good condition in Daytona, Fla. with his father, Eric Diggs, who has been taken into custody. Evan will be turned over to his mother when she arrives in Florida, according to Watson. Authorities say that Eric took Evan from Talladega just one week ago and doesn't have custody of the young boy.
Chief Watson says in a press release that the department thanks all who helped try and locate Evan as well as the Eric Diggs,U.S. Marshals, FBI, Alabama Department of Public Safety, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and various local law enforcement.
