An Alabama teacher has been named 2012’s Most Inspiring Teacher and has won a $10,000 grant for her school. Donna King is a special education teacher at Bankhead Middle School in Cordova, a town struck by the April 2011 tornadoes. King received more than 300 votes to beat 4 finalists in the Apple for a Teacher Contest sponsored by a Vermont-based company that makes specialty coffee and fruit drinks. Along with the $10,000 grant, students at Bankhead Middle School will also receive a year supply of apple cider packs provided by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
