The Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force will be getting more than $200,000 in grant money to help investigate drug-related violent crimes. Alabama’s Department of Economic and Community Affairs said in a release Thursday that more than $150,000 made available by the US Department of Justice along with an additional $50,000 in matching funds will go to Talladega County. Administered by ADECA and Governor Robert Bentley, the money will help the law enforcement task force identify and apprehend suspected drug offenders and will also help in the surveillance and destruction of methamphetamine labs throughout the county.
