After a weekend of worrying, a Vestavia Hills family is breathing a sigh of relief after finding out their kidnapped daughter is safe. Vestavia Hills Police Sgt. Johnny Evans says Rachel Hilley and suspect, Joshua Thompson, 27, of Birmingham, were found around 4:30 p.m. today on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The FBI is holding Thompson in lieu of $30,000 bond and he faces second-degree kidnapping charges. Evans anticipates additional charges may be filed against Thompson and eventually he'll be extradited back to Birmingham. Rachel Hilley is expected to be back home soon. Her family left tonight to pick her up.
