A man is dead after his car ran off an interstate embankment. It happened between the 1st Avenue and 4th Avenue exits on I-59 South near the East Lake community.
A resident of the area tells us he heard a loud noise, looked out his front window, and saw a car spiraling down the hill. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and the car came to rest in a wooded area.
First responders had to cut a hole in the fence just to get to the man. His name has not yet been released.
