Boaz police say a man was shot and killed during a game of quick draw last Thursday night. WAFF-TV reports police arrived at Extreme Concepts on Highway 431 in Boaz and found 30-year-old Patrick Daniel Garrett with a gunshot wound to the torso.
Garrett was taken to Marshall Medical Center South where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses told police they were playing quick draw with their guns, but they all thought the guns were unloaded. Police took a .40 caliber Glock into evidence which will be presented to a grand jury.
The victim’s body was taken to Huntsville for an autopsy and no charges were immediately filed.
