Governor Robert Bentley will speak at Briarwood Presbyterian Church Wednesday night at a memorial service for fallen soldiers. Bentley is the featured speaker at the "Memorial Dinner: Honoring our Fallen Soldiers" event. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in Briarwood's fellowship hall. The dinner will benefit the non-profit organization Support Our Soldiers, which sends care packages to members of the military overseas. Support our Soldiers was founded by the family of a Hoover Marine, Lance Corporal Thomas Rivers, Jr. Rivers, who died in the line of duty in Afghanistan in 2010. Tonight's memorial dinner will pay tribute to U.S. veterans and fallen soldiers and will also recognize the Support our Soldiers founders.
