CULLMAN — The driver of a Goodwill truck was transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center Thursday afternoon after an accident on Interstate 65.
According to initial reports from the scene, the truck was involved in an accident with a tour bus carrying members of country music artist and former American Idol contestant Bucky Covington’s band. No one was injured on the tour bus according to witnesses on the scene.
The wreck occurred around noon in the southbound lane near mile marker 314, four miles from the Cullman exit.
According to a person on the scene identifying himself as the band’s bass player, Covington was on his way to Birmingham for a show at the Tin Roof tonight. He also stated Covington was uninjured and had already left for a radio interview in Birmingham.
Further details on the Goodwill truck driver’s name and condition were unavailable at the time of this post.
