A Minor High School teacher has been arrested on charges of enticing a child for immoral purposes and having sexual contact with a student as a school employee. The teacher, 29-year-old Ketry Laron Clark, was placed on administrative leave on April 3 and arrested April 16 as a result of an investigation led by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office. Clark was an English teacher and a wrestling coach at the school.
Two female students have reported inappropriate remarks made by Clark. Both victims say Clark never touched them and sexual activity never occurred, according to a release from the sheriff's office. The first victim came forward on April 2 with her parents to complain to the school about remarks. One of the victims said that on several occasions, Clark "had asked her to engage in sexual activity with him at the school," Chief Deputy Randy Christian said. "The teacher had even selected a location at the school that would be private to keep anyone from finding out," Christian stated in a release. The victim says Clark made those remarks when she was 15 years old during the first semester of the current 2011-2012 school year. According to Christian, the victim said she had been too embarrassed by the remarks to report them to anyone, including her mother. However, when she learned that Clark had made similar requests of another student, she decided to come forward as well. "If that wasn't the case for those two little girls, those two brave little girls, there's no telling how many victims down the road we would see," Christian said. Clark turned himself into the Jefferson County Jail around 3 p.m. Monday, April 16. His bond for the charge of enticing a child for immoral purposes was set at $15,000 and the bond for the charge of a school employee having sexual contact with a student was set at $6,000. He bonded out of jail Tuesday morning.
