The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged rape that occurred last week east of Anniston.
A 21-year old woman reported Monday a rape and sexual assault from an ex-boyfriend allegedly taking place at her residence early Friday, according to Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson.
“She had broken up with him about a month ago, but she sent him a text wishing him a happy birthday,” Amerson said. “He then came over to her apartment and they had a conversation.”
Amerson said the scene turned violent when the assailant allegedly grabbed the woman and forced her to take her clothes off. The woman told deputies she tried to escape several times but the man physically restrained her and spent the rest of the morning at the residence.
Amerson said the Sheriff’s Office’s sex crimes investigator, Steve Roberson, is looking into the incident. No arrests have been made.
