Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday will sign House Bill 152, also known as the Heroes for Hire Act, during a bill signing ceremony at the State Capitol. Heroes for Hire will help Alabama's returning veterans find new jobs or start new businesses. The Act provides an additional $1,000 tax credit to employers who hire recently deployed, and now discharged, unemployed veterans. The Act also creates a $2,000 income tax credit to recently deployed, and now discharged, unemployed veterans who start their own businesses.
Governor Bentley will be joined by the bill's sponsors, State Senator Tom Whatley and State Representative DuWayne Bridges. House Speaker Mike Hubbard, Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh and Major General Perry G. Smith, Adjutant General of the Alabama National Guard, will also speak during the ceremony
