Interstate 65 southbound at exit 231 in Calera is shutdown. Shelby County Sheriff's deputies are on the scene. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office states that deputies were trying to apprehend someone. During the process, a person was injured. We are told that all law enforcement officers are safe. Travelers driving southbound on Interstate 65 toward Calera are urged to detour to Highway 31.
