The Civil Rights Memorial Center will host a candlelight vigil in memory of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. The vigil will take place this Sunday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at the Civil Rights Memorial, located at 400 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama. The investigation into 17-year-old Martin's death in ongoing. Martin was shot and killed late last month in Sanford, Florida, allegedly by a neighborhood watchman while walking back to his house. Martin was not armed. The case has sparked controversy because the alleged shooter, George Zimmerman, has not been arrested or charged in the case after claiming self defense in the incident.
The U.S. Department of Justice and a local grand jury have also stepped in to investigate.
