In Muscle Shoals, the school system is canceling classes due to a stomach virus outbreak. The outbreak is particularly bad at McBride Elementary School. School officials say 286 students were absent on Thursday and even more left during the day. About 400 students total were absent on Thursday, prompting the shutdown. All city schools were fogged with a disinfectant after students were out of the building. The schools will be fogged again today.
