Birmingham police confirm at least one person has died in a wreck on I-59 North at Arkadelphia Road. Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said an 18 wheeler ran off I-59 North around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The northbound side of I-59 is down to one lane of traffic a mile past Bush Blvd., causing a major backup on I-59 North.
Officials have not released any information about the victim in the wreck. Birmingham police officers and Birmingham Fire and Rescue workers are on the scene.
