A potential robbery in Golden Springs was thwarted Tuesday by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy. According to WEAC-TV, a woman entered the pharmacy of Winn Dixie in Golden Springs and gave the pharmacist a note that said she was armed and robbing the pharmacy.
Josh Shears, and off duty deputy, was there with his family and saw what was happening. Shears put his family behind a counter and confronted the woman. She began to flee but was stopped by Shears who discovered the woman was, in fact, armed.
The unidentified woman was arrested and taken to the Calhoun County jail.
