Alabama announced nine student-athletes have begun classes at the University and will be eligible to participate in spring practice with the Crimson Tide in 2013. Two of the highest-ranked prospects include Derrick Henry and O.J. Howard. Henry is a five-star prospect that is ranked as the No. 1 athlete by ESPN.com and 247Sports and the No. 4 running back by and Scout.com. He is ninth in the ESPN150 and 12th in the Top247.
Howard is the No. 1 tight end nationally by Rivals.com, 247Sports and Scout.com while ranking second by ESPN. He is No. 7 in the Rivals100, No. 20 in the Top247 and No. 45 in the ESPN150. Of the nine early enrollees, only two hail from Alabama. The other seven come from seven different states from across the country, including Utah, Colorado, Maryland, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia.
