The grandmother accused of hitting and killing her grandson will appear before a judge in January. Rebecca Elrod is charged with criminally negligent homicide. She's accused of hitting 2-year-old Brayden Lucas Daniel with a car in October. It happened at a home on Diane Avenue in Albertville. Investigators say Elrod was under the influence of prescription medication while driving. Elrod was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators got a court order to get a sample of her blood at the hospital. Elrod has a preliminary hearing January 18.
