a 59-year-old father and his 2-year-old son were struck near Pinson Valley High School as they attempted to cross Highway 75 to reach their parked car. The child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The father was airlifted to the hospital by a Life Saver Helicopter. The vehicle that struck the victims was driven by a 60-year-old, who did not see the victims crossing the highway. The driver was not injured in the accident.
WDNG has recieved an update that the 59 year old father passed away this morning.
