For the past week every time that I got in my car in the morning, the electronic display, which includes the digital clock, had reinitialized. After resetting it and noticing that it maintained the time during the day, the next morning I noticed that yet again the display had reset. Therefore, I looked up the problem using the Internet. The consensus was that the demise of my three year old car battery was quickly approaching. Rather than being stranded somewhere inconvenient with a bad battery, I decided to be proactive and get it replaced immediately.
As I had originally purchased the battery at a local branch of a nationwide retailer, my initial action was to return to them. However, once I went by yesterday evening I was not happy with how I was treated and their intrusive questioning. Frankly, I should be able to by a product without having my privacy completely invaded. I quickly decided that I would trade elsewhere and left.
Having heard the advertisement for Batteries Unlimited several times on WDNG, I decided to try them. This morning I stopped by shortly after they opened. I was served by Jerry Allred. There was no high-pressure salesmanship. I told him what I wanted to include the model and make of my car. Instead of only telling me about a new replacement that would make his store the most money, he gave me options of a battery with a two year, one year, and six month warranty. I informed him of my decision. He asked me to pull my car into the maintenance bay. And, within minutes he had the new battery installed. By the way, the prices were exactly what I had been quoted by the mechanic at the national store. I could not have asked for better treatment or service.
What also impressed me was the wide selection of other batteries that they have in stock. As the owner of a business that has numerous battery-dependent items, which are critical to our operation, I currently have several very expensive UPS backup devices that are not being used due to worn out batteries. The last time that I replaced batteries for a couple of them I found that short of driving to Birmingham, the only option was to buy replacement batteries on line from a company in Phoenix. Of course, since these batteries are heavy, the cost of shipping doubles the price of obtaining each battery. As I need to purchase seven of these batteries, this can be quite expensive. However, buying these batteries locally from Batteries Unlimited will cut my costs in half.
Batteries Unlimited is locally owned and operated. They are located at 1129 S. Quintard Avenue in Anniston.
