Alabama Department of Transportation announces rolling roadblocks and lane closures in the St. Clair County area. ALDOT's Progress 20 project will widen the last four-lane segment of Interstate 20 in St. Clair County.
State Troopers will conduct rolling roadblocks beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday between Exit 147 (Brompton) and Exit 156 (Eden) in the westbound lanes for blasting. Also, the outside westbound lane of Interstate 20 will be closed between exit 153 (Chula Vista) and exit 152 (Cook Springs) from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday to remove loose material from the blasting. A reduced speed limit of 45 mph is in effect throughout the work zone.
Motorists are urged to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work-zone speed limits and other work-zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. State troopers will control traffic and strictly enforce speed limits.
