Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley says it is essential to the state's efforts to create new jobs that voters approve Amendment 2 on the ballot Nov. 6.
Bentley said the amendment will allow the state to refinance bonds for industrial development projects. He said passing the amendment will make about $150 million available for the state to use to recruit new industry. Bentley made the comments Friday during a speech to the Alabama Roadbuilders Association at a Montgomery hotel.
Amendment 2 is 1 of 11 proposed constitutional amendments that will appear on the ballot statewide.
