A solider from Birmingham has been killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
The U.S. Department of Defense announced Tuesday that PFC Julian L. Colvin died July 22 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The department said the 21-year-old solider from Birmingham was killed along with Staff Sgt. Richard Berry of Scottsdale, Ariz., when the enemy's roadside bomb exploded.
They were assigned to the 508th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C.
