The Anniston Army Depot has good news Wednesday about their jobs after announcing at the beginning of the year that they would lay off 500 workers. Nearly 200 of those layoffs have already happened with more scheduled for September. However, officials announced that more than 300 jobs will be safe at least through next spring and possibly longer. The deputy depot commander said the depot will do some unexpected work for the National Guard and Army Reserve. There is still a possibility the depot could be chosen to repair tanks for the Kingdom of Morrocco as well.
