The mayor of Birmingham William Bell wants to bring a NBA team to Birmingham. A spokesperson for the mayor says that Bell is seriously considering getting a team in Birmingham.
In Tuesday council meeting, Bell brought in a 15 year old boy who has started a twitter account and a petition in support of bringing a NBA to Birmingham.
Some residents are exciting about the idea of having a sports team in Birmingham, while others feel there is not a market for it.
The Senior VP of the Basketball Communications for the NBA, Tim Frank, say that he is not aware of any talk of bringing a team to Birmingham and that the NBA is not looking to expand at the moment.
